Happy Birthday Eve! You are now 3!!!!

Eve is finally at the age where she understands it's HER birthday and SHE gets the presents. She was wired all week long. We kicked off her birthday with a little family party on Sunday before Tricia's parents left for home.

She is actually jumping up and down here waiting to eat the cake.

She had to get her little fingers into the icing while 'helping' me make the cake (note to self: never make fondant icing again, I hate how it tastes and it is a pain to make!!!!)

My mom made her a little pillowcase doll and a matching nightgown. Eve LOVES it. She minces (if you can imagine what that would look like) around holding up her dress like a grand duchess. It is hilarious.

Eve was thrilled with her doll house, she didn't even worry about the lack of furniture or people (it came with a little family)... she immediately got all her princess dolls and it is now a castle.

THE KID BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!

A much better idea was freezing the cake then cutting it up and making petitesfours. I used a glaze icing instead of fondant and then just made little bugs for the top. They tasted better and were so much easier to make. They were also a hit with the kids. All of them got to choose what bug they wanted to eat.

Eve is posing with her new birthday cake dress. She is a bit of a HAM.

The activity was easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy! I cut out eyes on the cheap paper plates, cut wings out of paper, then they decorated both and we taped the wings on the plates. FInally I added pipe-cleaners for antennae and they played butterflies.
We decorated some of the plates as flowers, others as spider's webs and they dances jumping from plate to plate. When the music stopped if they were on the spider's web they were caught.

The party really took of when I made a spider mask and they took turns pretending to be the spider chasing each other.

We couldn't post the blog without having a few picture of our little buddy. This is his newest toy. Asher loves to jump in it... just remember if you buy one, don't put them in it immediately after they have eaten.

One morning Eve asked if she could read to Asher, it was so cute I had to get some shots.

We put up the tree this weekend and Eve was mesmerized by it. She has been threatened not to touch any of the bulbs... we will see how long that lasts. We tried to put all the breakable ornaments up high, but she is a sneaky little girl and it is amazing how high she can reach when she tries.

Is that Tom Selleck or Clark Gable? Whoever he is, he is pretty hot with a mustache... well I must admit I was thrilled when he had to shave it off for business meetings. So long movember... until next year.

What a great long post! It looks like it is summer there, excepting the Christmas tree, of course. Cute pictures and party. Happy T-day!
